The Lost World” written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
Sir Arthur Conan Doyle was born on 1859 in Edinburgh. He began writing in 1879 in order to supplement his meagre income. Perhaps he is best known as the creator of Sherlock Holmes, one of the most famous detectives in literary history. Besides his works about Sherlock Holmes, Doyle wrote science fiction stories, historical novels, plays and romances, poetry, and non-fiction. The book I have read is "The Lost World”. This book has been made into a film at least four times and I don't think that any of them has been true to the original story!..(APIMTIS 1 PSL)

The Meaning of the Names of Main Cities
The etymology of the word or name, Alabama, has evoked much discussion among philological researchers. It was the name of a noted southern Indian tribe whose habitat when first known to Europeans was in what is now central Alabama. One of the major waterways in the state was named for this group and from this river, in turn, the name of the state was derived. The tribal name of Alabama was spelled in various ways by the early Spanish, French, and British chroniclers: Alabama, Albama, Alebamon, Alibama, Alibamou, Alibamon, Alabamu, and Allibamou.

The person I admire
There are some people who I admire and who can set a good pattern for me, who can affect me, for example: my mother, my father, my grandfathers, my aunts, uncles and even my friends and so on… . But I decided to describe person who I know only from my mother telling. It’s my great- grandfather. He is the person that I truly admire in my life, even if I don’t meet him personally. (Šis rašinys apie prosenelį, kai užduoda aprašyti tau brangų žmogų. Aprašyta, kaip jis atrodo, kuo domisi, kur gyvena, kodėl jis tau brangus.)

The person who has influenced my life most
I am going to talk about the person who is very important for me. It is my one of oldest cousins. Her name is Lina. She is three years elder than me, so now she is studying at university, to design, in Vilnius. Now, she isn’t just my elder cousin. She is like my sister, my best friend. She doesn’t look different from other girls, but for me she is very attractive.

The place would I like to go
There are a lot of interesting countries in the world and is extremely difficult to decide where to travel. Each country fascinates with own traditions, religions, languages, customs but at this moment I would like to go to India. India, officially the Republic of India is a country in South Asia. It is the seventh – largest country by geographical area, the second – most populous country in the world. (Apie vieną megstamiausią šalį. Pateikta informacija apie Indiją, jos kultūrą, papročius.)

The Political System of the USA.
The USA is a federal union of 50 states. The basic law is the constitution, adopted in 1787, which prescribes the structure of national government and lists its rights and fields of authority. Each state has its government and all of them have the dual character of both Federal and State government. The political system of the USA is divided into three branches: judicial, legislative and executive. Each branch holds a certain degree of power over the others, and all take part in the governmental process.

The power of positive thinking
Tai yra viešoji kalba. Tema pozityvaus mąstymo galia - I‘d like to begin my speech with Napoleon Hill‘s words: " What the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve". Hill was an American author who was one of the earliest producers of the modern genre of personal success literature. Hill‘s works examined the power of personal beliefs and the role they play in personal success. A positive minds anticipates happiness, joy, health and a successful outcome of every situation and action. I think you all have heard people saying "Think positively" to someone who feels down and worried.

When you leave school you understand that the time of your independence life and the beginning of a far more serious examination of your abilities and character has come. You also understand that from now you’ll have to do everything yourself, and to "fight” with everybody around you for better life. (darbo ilgis - 1 lapas)

The Qualities That Parents Would Like To See In Their Children
At some point in their lives most people have considered what qualities they would like to see in their children. I presume that the subject of raising a child is very controversial and apparently contradictory in different countries, but on the other hand I can point out a few values such as an ability to communicate, obedience, loyalty that are of a great importance all over the world, while the others are rated as being of lesser importance.
